Meet the Staff

Jeremy & Carolyn Holt

My name is Jeremy Holt, and I am currently serving as Interim Camp Director of Youth Haven. I served with KMM from 2015–2019 while still single. I met my wife, Carolyn, while camp counseling at Youth Haven Bible Camp. Her parents, Daniel & Julee McIntosh, served with KMM from 2012–2020 and still actively volunteer at Youth Haven.

I am originally from St. Cloud, MN, and caught the camp bug early on, serving at Camp Good News and Evergreen Bible Camp throughout my teens and early twenties. Daniel had served with Camp Good News in the 1980s, so we actually met through CGN’s Facebook page! Though we had never met in person at that time, he invited me to come to Youth Haven in 2015. As the Lord would have it, I married his daughter in July of 2021!

I studied Christian Ministry and Spiritual Formation & Discipleship at Crown College in MN and Moody in Chicago. I first heard about KMM at Moody in 2010 during Missions Conference when Pastor William Owens and Brad Quackenbush spoke. Carolyn studied Bible and Counseling at Moody and Trinity Theological Seminary in Evansville, IN.

We are serving at KMM because while Eastern Kentucky is beautiful, it is also deeply broken, impoverished, and struggling both socially and spiritually. Many of the same issues seen in inner cities are present here—drug abuse, joblessness, family breakdown, and hunger. Many young people need guidance, mentoring, and hope. The Lord has truly broken our hearts for this region.

Though this area is part of the “Bible Belt,” many people do not fully understand what it means to have a personal relationship with Christ. Many are caught in tradition rather than truth.

More than anything, these youth need to know the hope of a Savior. The Lord has opened doors for ministries here that plant seeds, share the Gospel, and disciple believers through every stage of their spiritual journey. The goal is to make disciples who make disciples.

A wise saint once said, "The hour is desperately dark; your flame is needed." Though we feel inadequate at times, we have chosen to follow God’s call together as a married couple in full-time ministry. We are excited to be part of this Christ-centered mission, especially reaching at-risk youth.

Please pray for us as we seek to be a light in dark places. We are grateful for the opportunity KMM has given us and hope to serve faithfully and effectively in this role.
